Expensive??

Have a look at
PATHFINDER-MODELS-1-43-PFM-5-RELIANT-SCIMITAR-GTE-BLUE

Any idea what is so special about this model to justify that sort of price?

You could get a real scimitar for that sort of money.

The Scimitar SS1 is not so much a car as a lifestyle statement; it basically says "I'm mad, and I don't care".

Pathfinder models did model cars for collectors. Just a limited series of all models, and the Scimitar was one of the series with less than normal items.
So nowaday the collectors want a full Pathfinder collection. So the lower volume ones are more expensive. These were never cheap at all. So this is a normal price for a Pathfinder Scimitar.
If you want a very good model Scimitar 1/43 scale, buy the current Neo model Scimitar. Someone here has a nice offer on that model

I can understand the whole collectability thing, but I wouldn't pay 375 quid for a model thats not even remotely accurate (imo)

Nor would I. I've bought full sized cars for less than that.! In contrast, the NEO model is well worth the money and the detailing is very impressive.
