V6 essex timing gear

That's very scarey, I had better check and see what's hiding behind that casing.

Just been poking around looking for the temperature sensor on the radiator but the wires have been cut off flush with the surface of the thing. Are these sensors still available or am I better using a modern set up to control the fan which at present has a separate remote switch fitted near the gear...

Thanks for the replies guys, just been clicking and a new pair of ordinary halogens on their way north.

Yes it is Aztec, just checked the chassis number.

Really looking forward to getting it on the road.

Anybody know if the 7" headlights are the same as Mini and the early Landrover, mine have very rusty reflectors.

Lots of fun and games with the indicators at the rear end but turned out the flasher unit was dodgy along with bad connections and a bad 4 way hazard switch.

It was a right little swine to free off, too late for the locks as the wd was squirted in there too and I had heard of the pencil lead rubbed on key but had forgotten about it. Today I had a go at the window problem and swopped over the switches but the problem lies elsewhere as there is only three ...

Thanks guys, today was spent removing the door card on the near side and after pouring a generous amount of wd onto the mechanism the door lock now works from inside and with the key, tomorrow, weather permitting, a poke about at the switch for the window and see why it's not working then try and so...

It's Yellow

After a lot of messing around it finally made it's way out of the garage under it's own power for a good clean up after a year of languishing and gathering dust and plenty of dirty fingerprints. Now the serious work gets under way for the trip to the test test satation, the list of stuff to do is qu...

3 Rod Gearbox problem

Just a quick update on the gearbox saga. After a rather long break due to a health problem the side plate on the box was removed and one of the parts was found lurking in the bottom of the box, eventually it was all reassembled and connected up, an unwilling female was dragged into the garage kickin...

Wanted Interlocking Plunger

When I took the side plate off the gearbox I found that one of the small bearings was lying at the bottom of the gearbox but for the life of me I can't find one of the interlocking plungers (shown beside the 10mm soocket) despite searching with an endoscope and trawling through the oil that was left...

Would a drivers seat show so much wear in such a low mileage car? Failed it's MOT nine times since 2006.
