window regulator

While dismantling the drivers door last night I noticed a very strong resemblance between the winder mechanism and the one fitted to an Eagle RV kit car (Jeep replica) that I have. Not done any precise measurements so I guess from the above it could either be from front or rear of an SD1, as opposed...

Rear drain channels

Hah. I just discovered this issue. Although my 'new' SE6 is dry as a bone - because it's been indoors for several years, it must have had a very soggy bottom in the past. I just removed the rear interior trim panel and light access covers to discover that all four window drain holes were connected t...

why does the 'even fiiring pulses' mean there is no benefit in a crossover pipe? Surely it's about time taken for exhaust pulses to travel from a port to the crossover. Mosty non v engine manifolds just seem to make this distance as long as possible. Is that becuase of twin pipes after the join?

Fitting 195/70-14 tyres is a topic that comes up from time to time. I run this size of Kumho on my SE6A and they are fine for the price. See this thread for more: http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37528&p=433700&hilit=kumho#p433700 Nigel Hmm that thread indicates 185 80 profile...

Only the broken bit at the bottom missing & the mesh grill, looks the same as my 2 se6a's
Well I found the mesh grille today. It had been pushed right in and up under the spare wheel tray

Thanks for those inputs. I remember many years ago having an Alfasud (1.5 Ti) and it had 165 tyres that were terrible at roundabouts in the wet both stopping and getting away. I think I had two sets, and both were the same. Eventually I upgraded to 185 with no other changes - and never looked back. ...

Tyres

A few posts on this but none that quite ask what I'm after: I have the classic 14" Wolfrace slotmags and would like to keep them However several tyres don't hold air, are somewhat bald, are of very dubious age and brand By modern standards 195/70 is also rather narrow. So obviously I will in due cou...

SE6 Ignition Switch / Lock?

So if a Metro will fit then I am interested in buying one. Corky? I have already PMed you (I think) ooops - when I refreshed the page it turned out there were more answers there than I had seen! Yes that one does seem to have a bit of an angle on it. I don't need the electrical part but I do need th...
