QRG parts books links

Both GW and QRG parts books are working for me.

I tend to use the QRG books as they can be saved and can been looked at without needing to go online.

GTE Owners Workshop Manual

With the above comments that parts are cheap for scimitars I must be buying the wrong parts from the wrong places. I try to support the club/specialist traders where I can but some of the parts I need are no longer available new. When I have tried to buy some used parts recently I must be picking th...

Rear light cluster

My se6 has a set of the cheap eBay trailer lights fitted. They were fitted by the previous owner a couple of years ago. If you look closely at my lenses you can see a few micro cracks. The lenses degrade when exposed to sunlight. I have bought a spare set & also have some LED type lights that I plan...

Lockheed caliper dismantling

"Brakes International" has been my go to website for brake parts for a few years now.

They are very good at sourcing strange and obsure parts.
They had pads and discs in stock for my JDM (japanese domesestic market) honda & even got me a set of caliper pistons & seals.

V6 Alloy timing gear

I checked the timing gear on my car a few weeks back by removing the petrol pump, to be 100% accurate the plate mounted where the petrol pump normally mounts, shone a torch into the hole (I did use a endoscope to be 100% certain). The give away for me was when the magnet on the endoscope stuck to th...

Optimistic Price SE6

I quite like the original colour too.

Looks like the seller is going by the old adage "There is no such thing as bad publicity"

As for its value. I doubt its worth £28,000 but if it looks as nice in the flesh it will sell for more than £2800.

eBay hacked?

Ive been a eBay member for 20 years & cant remember having to provide them with anything but could have a while back. I can remember having to provide paypal with photo id though. I thought the request was a scam but turned out it was a legit request as I had reached some limit that required id chec...

Pistonheads - Spotted

Looking through my older note on cars I was interested in/wanted to bid on/make offers on I know why I didn't want to bid anymore on that car. From MOT history 22 February 2018 Fail Mileage 84,609 miles MOT test number 9155 4070 7325 Test location ► View test location Reason(s) for failure Offside E...

Pistonheads - Spotted

I'm pretty sure that car was on ebay earlier this year.
There was certainly a car in the same colour with the same interior colour.
It was one of the ones I got outbid on when I was looking for my se6.

nice period radio upgrade

A little update to these Chinese radios. I've had one fitted to my other halves Peugeot that's worked faultlessly quite some time now. On my recommendation a few other people I know have bought them. There are quite a few different styles of radio all with the same functions, remote and display type...

More bad luck for my Scimitar

After speaking to the local pcso its looking like Jim & Roger are correct as there has been a spate of break-ins to sheds and cars on the estate where I live over the last few days. The PSCO was telling me this morning that the list of things stolen range from tools, bikes and even frozen food. I gu...

More bad luck for my Scimitar

Over the few weeks the scimitar has been sat outside in the yard so I could get a few things done in garage before I put the scimitar in there and try and sort out the starting/running issues along with the gearbox leak. The lock on the drivers door of the scimitar can be opened with anything that w...

New Scimitar Book Published today!

I ordered a copy from wordery via ebay & got refunded a few days later saying no longer available.

Luckily managed to order a copy from Amazon for £14.95 via the seller Book Depository.

Only had a quick look through it as of yet till I get more time to sit down and have a read.

Air/fuel ratio; lambda wide or small range?

Most lambda sensors fitted to production cars are narrow band (small band) & don't give proper readings with most air/fuel gauges in my experience. There are some gauges sold that will work with a narrow band lambda sensor but they typically give very basic information (Rich, stoic, and lean) & can ...
