I've been looking at that wiring diagram and Peters got a green wire going from 24 on the fuse box to the Otter switch then black/yellow from Otter switch to fan then black to earth. I think the fan is a bit of a red herring here, Just to get the fan running there is a wire direct from the battery + run into the cab with a bare end and another wire with a bare end run from the cab to one side of the fan then one from the other side of the fan to the black wire in the harness und...

That was my other route. Car insured fully comp but has £75 excess for the screen.
It's a no brainer really isn't it. insurance all the way, and you don't have to do anything.

Recommended black sealant for screen rubber splits?

It was recommended to me some time ago that it's best practice to use a non hardening black sealant. I think it was called Slickafix or something like that.
