Good or Appropriate Number Plates

Fuel hose

AJL's fuel pipe is rated to withstand ethanol, but I guess all flexible fuel hose has a limited life - does anyone know how often the new stuff ought to be changed? Every 5 years?

Here's a few ideas/red herrings:
Have you tried swapping the wheels around (front to back)?
Are the front dampers very old?
Can you see any discolouration on the discs where the pads have sat in one place for a long time?

SE6a french wake up after a long sleep

Yes, Mark supplied me with a carrier similar to your photo but without bits missing a few weeks ago. Try him.

Presumably SUs if you are using Burlen kits.
I'd like a spare 40DCOE weber if you happen to have one lying around!

SE5 stalling at junctions

Here's a thought: if it isn't a timing issue then the changeover from the idle/slow running jet to the main jet is possibly the problem. If a quick pump of the throttle when accelerating overcomes the problem then it might be a lean spot. If pumping doesn't make a difference then it might be too ric...

Cooling fan run time

Another thread somewhere around here identified the hysteresis as only 3 to 5 degrees, which is a good thing, as you want the engine temperature to be fairly constant for optimal running. Therefore a frequently switching fan is a good thing as it is stopping as soon as the temperature has dropped a ...

Another petrol tank

Going back to your first post; my memory isn't good but... On the FBHVC website I think there's a link to a Report possibly by the University of Leicester who did a study on the corrosive aspects of ethanol on (brass) carburettor parts, and found no evidence. The flaw, to my mind, is that they didn'...

Ferdinand Piech.

Sorry for any confusion; Ferdinand founded Porsche, his son was called Ferdinand too, but was known as Ferry (nicknamed Butzie and designer of the 911), and Ferry's sister (the first Ferdinand's daughter) married (Anton?) Piech and they named their son Ferdinand, like you do. Anyway, that's how I un...
