Hi
The engine mounts are fine, the tube hits the bulkhead and needs to be re-bent a full inch to provide correct clearance.

Re: Gtc 2.8 compression

Okay,
So set to factory less 4 thou (I guess the process will be in the book on how you do this).
Then test compression with all plugs out. if different,
Then re-test with 5 mL of oil. if different piston rings??
Should be reading 167-181 psi

Re: Gtc 2.8 compression

Right. So release all pressure on the tappets ( this closes all the valves ) and check the cylinders again with the tappets fully off so they are all closed. (my word this makes sense when you think about it) None mechanic me, but my do I know a lot more about this car. If the cylinders are all the ...

Re: Gtc 2.8 compression

Not sure what the compression was like as I didn't check..
Shall set everything back to original (setting valve clearances) then check the compression, if they are still out then!!!!

Can anyone recommend where to obtain a refurbished 2.8 Cologne Engine or where to take mine???

So do I have any other options other snapping the remaining four bolts & drilling and re-tapping for new bolt...

Re: Fuel Vaporisation Problem?

Hi Peter, I had the same problem which ended up being fuel line corrosion (rubber), I had a nice glass filter fitted which looked lovely but the fuel was only marginally entering. Having fixed the feed, the next problem was the return, this proceeded to return part to the tank and part over the rear...
