Re: Test Day 26th April

Me and Emma are up for it if we can bring the Megane Coupe Sprint Car? The SS1 won't be ready by then sadly.

Re: Ty Croes, 30th April/1st May

The organisers have been in touch with me and informed me that only one entry has been received from SSSC Competitors, and that's Trev Shortt.
What's going on guys? No one else entering?

How about the only circuit racing SS1 in the world? Would that be welcome? :)

Re: 2011 Sprint Season - Look Out Trevor!

Looking really good Chris, nice work!! I might make this my wallpaper as motivation for pushing on with mine :) I think you're right about the power figure, 270-280bhp is with a 3" exhaust, you're trying to squeeze a lot of gases through what looks to be a standard system??? Elbow looks like a great...

Re: SS1 Brakes

Okay, I've ordered the E30 rear discs and some other front discs for my conversion (which won't be using the Wilwoods as previously stated).
Pete, I don't suppose you have a technical drawing of the steel plate adaptors you made for the rear calipers please?

Re: SS1 Brakes

Pete, the E30 rear discs, are they the 258x10mm x 60.1mm high ones?

Re: SS1 Brakes

Raz, BMW E21 323i discs are 255 diameter, 75 high but only 22mm thick - would they fit? That might be the answer. Take out one of the ally spacers from the caliper (I'm sure this is possible). Use a 5mm spacer between hub and disc. Turn them down to 252mm and bobs your uncle! I don't suppose you ha...

Re: SS1 Brakes

So my plan is/was to use Wilwood NDL (Narrow Dynalite) calipers as they bolt straight up to the 88.9mm mounting of the standard upright. One appeared on eBay last week so I snapped it up for £70 (RRP £120) :D http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=562_588&products_id=8309 It's a 120-498...

Re: SS1 Brakes

Hi Pete, yet more questions!
I can't find the Golf calipers on Raldes website, can you post a link please? When you say it includes the mounting plate, do you mean the carrier? Or is it a specially made carrier, not the same as fitted to the Golf?
Cheers,
Raz

Nice conversion Pete, i'm surprised no one else has commented!
I'm planning something similar on the race car, so it's interesting to see what you've done.
