I was thinking of marine Ply, but there is a bend in it, so I am thinking of scoring the back to bend it and then to glass the back to hold the angle. I need to insert a small fillet next to vents also. Alloy mi...

If you want it to last then get them Galvanised.

Bonding in Metal Brackets

I would epoxy prime or galvanise them first. Bonding can be assisted by drilling some holes in the mating steel surface.

Well I am worried about it. That tube carries a lot of torsion from the suspension. Although I can plate the left and right sections it will still be weak and I can't easily do inside the bracket so it would be even weaker than the plated tube. My inclination is to replace the tube and bracket and t...

I think the structure is good, but I would use 1/4" scrim foam on the silver bits and then black vinyl. That would look classy and contast nicely with the main colour.

Stuart, just send it down here for me to sort out for you. I don't think that you enjoy spannering as much as using the car, so that would get you sorted!

Wanted :SE5 seat in good order, or SE5a seat for recovering

MX5 is till the easier option to find Andy - or MGF ? It is for a customer's car, to replace a damaged seat so it has to be an original. Luke seems to think he might be able to assist, just had a PM from him so here's hoping. As an aside, the customer was horrified when I showed him how the seats a...
