Steering UJ wrongly phased Coupe

I understand phasing, but I can't see why you can't get it right by adjusting it on the splines. If it is 90 degrees out, then position one end 90 degrees out. Easier than getting it swapped out.

Being driven mad

No reason to replace the mixture screws unless they have been butchered. Just make sure that they are gently bottomed before unwinding three and a half turns and leave them alone. Wind up the idle screw though. Start the engine and have a tablespoon of fuel to hand in a syringe or some other suitabl...

This looks like an SE5 to me.

As its belongs to someone else i hardly think they would want to discuss private details with anybody...If it was mine i'd be bloody annoyed if they did ! This was in the early 1970s , not last week. Even so, a simple "Sorry we have no info" wouldn't cost them anything but a few moments. The piece ...

SE5 chassis repair just arrived

Thanks Phil. James Holland said : "Bloody ages. Probably several days. 3-4. It allows for removing all shitty bolts and cutting others. Removing doors/glass/interior to make it lighter. Otherwise you would need some strong lifting hoists". So now I am waiting for the owner to give me his further ins...

SE5 chassis repair just arrived

I suppose that I could take out part of the external body and drive something in just so far. However, ignoring the owner's budget (if it were my ca...

SE5 chassis repair just arrived

I have been cutting away the scrap metal on the offside and have had to go some way to find anything to weld to. I have also found holes in places that I wasn't expecting, like the tube that carries the rear jacking point etc.

If you are not sure about the carburettor, set it to three and a half turns out each side as a starting point.
