SE5 steering rack

Hi guys, I'm on the home straight with the early SE5 project but have discovered excess play in the steering rack. Does anyone know if replacement parts or a repair kit is available? Seems the specialists have exchange racks but that's an expensive option with me being in New Zealand. TIA.

Re: SE5 Door handles - help please ?

The actual casting is the same, we make the gasket sets for both Mk1 and Mk2 Cortina. I am using the Mk1 type gaskets on my SE5.

My '68 has never had them fitted to the nose panel. Vertical filler cap too.

Re: Graham Walker Ltd

Is it pretty much a waste of time emailing Sean these days? What method would members recommend for getting parts from them for export?

No, not at all. It's an antipodean solution for overheating....

Re: SE5 rebuild on home straight

that's the shortest project thread I've ever seen :-) looks great :-) I promise to do better as time permits! There's quite a story to this car which will be told when details are confimed, thanks for the comments! Also thanks to the members on this forum for all of their help in us getting this far.

SE5 rebuild on home straight

SE5 number 39 in the finishing stages, not too much to do to get it fired up and back on the road. The last registration label is still on the windscreen and it's dated 1985 so that's how long it has been off the road. I do have caps for the PA wheels, just forgot to put them on!

Re: essex core plug

It looks like the cam plug has had an attempt to remove it, unsuccessfully, and it's suffering due to this. While the engine is on the floor it makes sense to replace it properly, have you ever removed one externally Coupe Racing? Cheers.

Re: essex core plug

First option is out of the question as my mother-in-law needs her transportation........

Engine is out of the car so it's a little easier. Is it a conventional core plug, i.e. not threaded? Thanks again.

Re: essex core plug

Jim, if you need to be careful removing the cam plug at the back, what is the recommended procedure? I have a weeping, damaged one! Thanks, Geoff.

Re: Princess Anne MAG Alloy Wheel Centres / Hub caps

I agree Jim, I also would have assumed they were not fitted to the GT however, on page 94 of Don Pither's Reliant Sports Cars, lower photograph, it refers in the text to "GT alloy wheels" on Princess Anne's SE5. In that pic the wheels appear to have GTE in the centres but years ago when I first got ...

Princess Anne MAG Alloy Wheel Information

Should the Princess Anne alloys have "GT" or "GTE" stickers on the centre caps?
