What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Two interlopers at our August Bromley Noggin meeting. Paul left his Middlebridge at home and enjoyed his immaculate Marcos Mantula for the evening and similarly Richard left his GTC in the garage and showed off his lovely looking Rolls Royce Cornish to us for the first time in his 2 (?) year ownersh...

HRCR East Anglian Classic Rally, June 2019

Well done Chris and Brendan. Sounds like a tough event.

What a wonderfully versatile car your Sabre is - tough, gritty competition car one month, luxury tourer a couple of months later.

Need documentation on a SE5

Within the last year an Israeli built Sabra has been successfully registered in the UK with an age related number plate. The car had been imported from Belgium about 30 years ago and left to languish in a garage. The car's chassis number was known but it otherwise had no paperwork and no evidence th...

Nice to have two such fabulous local events.

What a lovely collection of British vehicles.

Sabres and the MoT

So far we have not declared our Sabres to be of "Historic Interest" at the time of renewing their tax. To be honest I have always forgotten to do so at those times. So we have just renewed the MoT for the Prototype (prior to it moving to new custodianship) and our Sabre Six convertible. The process ...

Guy, one sure way of identifying the DR3 is that it has six wires connected to it, as per the diagram attached to my earlier post.

Bonding in Metal Brackets

As part of the restoration of our Sabre Six GT I have been fabricating various steel brackets to replace rusted or missing originals. These include the rear wing to rear cross-member bracket and the bonnet hinge. These have to be bonded into the glassfibre bodywork. My question is: will the bonding ...

Wiper switches

The Sabre Six and Sabre Four (and the Sabra) were fitted with the Lucas DR3 wiper motor. This was also original fitment to the Jaguar Mk1, no doubt amongst other cars of the day. I think the rotary switch was also fitted to the Jaguar Mk1. The attached description of operation and wiring diagram, pr...
