Corky's Scimitars (..and now an SS1 race car build)

Cheers Craig, I’ll give it a try on one the spare boot lids.

Maybe crank it down over a few days.

Access panel in the boot liner made, painted and fitted. Didn't take a photo of the final fit, but you get the idea...? https://i.imgur.com/TQwzcDd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/gEgGSWy.jpg Next something to fill the big gap in the front of the engine bay. https://i.imgur.com/76qaAw9.jpg https://i.imgur.c...

Thanks for the comments fellas. Yes it will still be driven like I stole it. I didn’t let the shinyness of the Sabre hold me back the last two seasons :D

The spoiler is MK2 Sabre I believe. I thought GW had some?

Forgot to say, I've got some Tiger Seal. I was thinking of using that, then drilling through from underneath to add some securing screws.

A good PU panel adhesive. It'll never come off again without taking one side of the paint with it! I recommend "Wayside adhesives" products fyi. Personally I'd say those GL frames are a tad high, but if the hood fits without the fabric being munched then all's ok I suppose. Looking better by the da...

Door frames and glass fitted. I did this against the hardtop as it's a better reference to adjust to than a hood. https://i.imgur.com/RKGwmo6.jpg https://i.imgur.com/RUACffw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ybrlrU9.jpg Next job was fitting the soft top studs and backing plates to the deck, so I could fit the...

That was a thought Phil, but they’re badly seat belt damaged in the usual place :(
One thought was to cut the top off and make a hard board panel for the bottom. Sabre style.

Great work, Steve... Thanks Geoff. I've now got both doors on, and have almost finished building them up. The locking mechanisms are right PITA, it took me 8 hrs to hang two doors, fit them out and get the locks and catches functioning correctly. Just got the quarter lights and glass to fit when th...

Slow progress, but getting things done. The back end is now rebuilt and the small tank installed. I've yet to fit the swirl pot as I'm having thoughts of a custom tank  I've fitted the glass to the hard top and fitted the front wings and new indicators and wiring. I also had to fit the heater ...

SS1 Ti Ignition control module / amplifier / transistor

Certainly a cheaper alternative at £35, if it works that is.

The ones referred to in the link viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29817&hilit=Ignition+module are cheaper still :D .

Has anyone had any success using one in a Ti ?

Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car

Fuel filter is on the high pressure side of the pump. The tank pickup is a dip tube off the fuel sender, so a low fuel level under hard cornering would explain the issue. You’re unlikely to see this on the hills, but you will at places like Anglesey and Aintree. A swirl pot will fix the issue. Low p...

The standard fuel pump is plenty man enough for over 200bhp, so I wouldn’t worry about that. But you can cure the fuel starvation by adding a swirl pot and LP pump.
