I’ll believe you Phil.

Just need to keep an eye on you at Curbs, if I see you with your arms around a tree I’ll know your true reason.

Nice to have, but not essential for 160 BHP at around 8psi. Get a good boost gauge and controller. The Turbosmart one is very good indeed. I don’t get any spikes with mine. Set it up for about 8 psi (about 10-15 clicks). Should be a good start point for the rolling road. Don’t forget to add in a dum...

Recommend me a (4X4) tow car

Absolutely. I was offered 20% off a new (2017 model) Touareg last year, but that still made it a £40k + car. Sounds like a good discount until you look at the finance deal they insisted on to get that price. Touaregs lose about 40-50% of their list price over 2 years, which makes them a shrewd 2nd h...

If you’re looking for 160-170 BHP. I wouldn’t go to too much trouble. You can easily get that with a tweak of boost (10psi ish) and an intercooler. There’s always a risk it could go bang, but if you’ve only got a standard HG then that will probably act as a fuse. If you’re looking for more. ie 180-2...

Recommend me a (4X4) tow car

Having said that I didn’t buy this one brand new. It was a mgrs car with low mileage and warranty. The price was too low to pass up. In fact a year on the retail price is about what I paid. If I’d have bought the new one, I’d be £13k down already.

So maybe I’ll give you a shout in 12 months

You need to drill out the blanking plug too. Needs to be done carefully on the bench.

Cheers Craig, I may just give you a shout in a couple of years when I’m ready to move this one on. Only had it 12 months and they didn’t pi55 me off enough to bail out yet

It’s not a necessity, just another tool if it’s found to be lean.

Recommend me a (4X4) tow car

I think I might. I’ve been spoilt by the Audi dealer for the last few years. They’ve lent me all sorts of nice stuff such as S5 convertible, all sorts of Quattro stuff and SUVs. Their prices weren’t too bad either. The VW experience was very very underwhelming. I do like the Touareg though, it’s a b...

As a G reg car you may well have the fuel feed from the tank underneath on a seperate lock ring insert. If so it will be a 12mm pipe My Sabre was like that. 12mm pipe from underneath. Be careful with boost until you've had it on the rolling road. There's a good chance you'll be under fueling withou...

Is this an SE6-series door handle?

There are usually plenty of Rangerover Classic handles for sale on eBay with keys. They fit in place of SE6 handles. I've fitted NOS ones to at least 2 GTCs. Differences are that some come with heated locks, the finish is slightly different (brushed aluminium rather than chrome) and the lock barrels...
