Re: Summer of '76?

I remember it well! We went on a camping holiday to the New Forest with our four young children (we did have twins) and got held up outside Winchester by a large heathland fire blowing dense smoke across the road. The other thing I remember is going on a trip to the coast, stopping for a break (chil...

Re: Modernish cars - scrap

I have two cars fitted with the Renault 900cc turbo engine. No. 1 is a 2015 Dacia Sandero Stepway, this is a high riding small 'Crossover' with all the gizmos you could wish, chosen by my wife, as with her hip and knee problems she can get in an out easily, and does 45-50 MPG. It replaced a 2012 1.4...

Re: Bromley Pageant

The Bromley Noggin always have a stand there. The one make parking area usually has a small collection of Reliants, some three wheels and some four. It is a very good show with a wide variety of cars, commercials, military, buses and some bikes. If you go come along to the stand and have a natter. T...

Re: Hello from Kent

What part of Kent are you in? There are two Noggins in Kent, one at Halstead between Bromley and Sevenoaks and one at Pluckly. You will be made very welcome at both of them.

Re: Trunnion trouble?

To stop this happening again. When you have thee system in pieces drill and tap the outer end of the lower wishbones from underneath and screw in grease nipples, the angled type make it easier to pump grease in. This enable you to pump grease into the area of the bush and nylon 'top hats'. Not only ...

No, because the Tesla is electric only and therefor zero rated.

Re: 25yr Rolling Tax Exempt Petition/ Historic Status

Nothing to do with the rolling tax. BUT Next year the basic road tax for all new cars will be £140, regardless of emissions. Only zero emission rated cars will be exempt. More polluting cars will pay even more. A Nissan Qashqai1.6dCi, at present zero rated, will pay £160 the first year and £440 over...

Re: Carb Pinning

I had the metal vacuum pipe come out on my 6A, not so dangerous but the engine ran a bit rough. This made me pin both that and the petrol pipe, which came out when I gave it a gentle tug. Better safe than sorry.

I can also recommend them. They are only about a mile from my daughter and son in law's house in Staplehurst Kent, she has an SS1. and he has two 6As. Send for a copy of their catalogue, it will keep you interested for hours.

Does any body know if it is correct that Super Unleaded does not contain ethanol, or this only certain brands?

Re: London Classic Car Show this weekend

I went last year, a complete waste of money. Loads of very high price 'classics' exhibited for sale by dealers who expected you to have an income of 2 million a year. Unless you are interested in staring at over restored cars you can't afford don't bother.

I studied the Video intently. I don't reckon they are Reliants, they look more like 'Bristols' to me.

Re: Ignition timing light

Avoid the cheap ones that use a 'Neon' type tube. Unless you are working in almost pitch dark they are impossible to see. I use the 'Gunson' one, it is bright and has other uses as well. I don't know if the modern LED versions are better, as my 'Gunson' serves me very well.

What came in my post to day was my renewed licence. I can now drive for another 3 years. If you drive in Kent Surrey or Sussex beware!
