The remedy that I use is Pirelli webbing. Far superior to those membranes and should last the life of the car.

SE5 chassis repair just arrived

I have repaired far worse, the main rails and the tubes holding the rear trailing arms are the bits that kill them.

Wrapping

apart from late se5a bodys which were built and used straight away, most scimitar bodys seemed to be made and sat outside for a while.

North Coast 500

we didnt stick rigidly to the 500 route, we camped on a beach one night,
the landrovers height meant the co pilot could see better,

we did it in 2017 in a group of landrovers, the single track bits at the top were stunning.

Is a 5A improved over a 5 ?

the later SE5 onwards had slightly higher headlights due some minimum height thing.

Essex engine problems - again

you need to have the crank measured,
the thust bearings can wear, giving front /back movement.

SE6A engine lifting....

Mark, give cazzie my regards....must have been in mid to late 80s that we used to come up in the scimitar, towing a scimitar caravan. In one trip in the lake district we all changed my failed engine mounts by brute force. Got a photo somewhere...Will try and dig it out. Sorry I don't remember much ...
