And so it begins

Steve, can I ask when you separated the m/c from the servo, the rubber seal that sits in the servo recess, was it held in with a retaining ring or was it just pushed in. Cheers Dave.

Brake master cylinder

Hi everyone. Just stripped my master cylinder and found these two . The small piece was in the gap of the brake fail shuttle. But the other piece was in one of the feed holes under the seal for the reservoir! Please see the photos. Also I have brake fluid in my servo. Has anyone ever tried a rebuild...

Clutch pipe connection -SE6A

Hi Olconn, the goodridge hose will probably be 7/16JIC. I had the same problem when I bought a landy m/c, so I stripped it and re tapped it to the the same 7/16 Jic. If I remember the thread is unf.

Coolant level

Hi everyone, just a quick question regarding coolant level. I've just completed a rebuild and when filling with coolant I noticed that the auto choke housing is higher than the level in the thermostat housing when filled. Just thinking about trapped air.

DSC_0511.JPG hi guys, could anyone please tell me which terminal goes to the far side of the ballast resistor when starting. I took some pictures before removing but the wiring had been chopped and changed quite a bit so doesn't relate to the wiring diagram. Any help would be much appreciated. Chee...

Essex engine problems - again

Trevor, why are you suspecting that the O/D of the bearings are wrong. Can you tell if they have spun out of position. There should be no wear on the outside. And as roymck says, use a bore mic not verniers to measure.

Essex engine problems - again

Hi Trevor, the camshaft will have axial movement but when when running it will be thrust forwards due to the distributor gear wheel.

PAS Servicing

Hi Gavin, if you are anywhere near Mark I can recommend Hydosteer in Dewsbury. They serviced mine for £125. Stripped, cleaned, fitted new seals rebuilt, painted and pressure tested.

Hi Mark, yes I took my old calipers to exchange. They prefer that nothing not even cleaning has been done to them. And yes got the gearbox mount thanks. Dave
