Fuel tank venting

thanks.
Where is the pipe from the non-return valve routed? Mine goes all round the houses, eventually ending up at the rear bumper.
What is your T piece made out of - blue plastic like mine??

Fuel tank venting

yes it looks like a messy version of that but the pic says it is the 1800 set up and mine is a 1600. All that pipe looping back on itself isn't needed surely?

Fuel tank venting

Hello Everyone, I took the boot liner out tonight to fit an electric aerial and am a bit confused by the way the petrol vent pipes have been done - doesn't look like it came out of the factory like this! P1010800a.jpg The vent from the tank outlet goes to a dodgy looking plastic T piece, which branc...

water hose

Thanks both.
I have what looks like an original used hose but was wary of fitting it as I thought they were tarred with the same brush as Kevlar. I'll fit it and see what happens and look at making something up out of silicone.

water hose

Hello Everyone,
the weird branched water hose on my 1600 ss1 is leaking. Is there something better than another Kevlar hose?

SE6a Headlight nightmare (for me anyway)

As well as checking and cleaning the earths, I would check that all the various individual bullet connectors around the headlights are clean. I had a weird problem many years ago on my first 5a that turned out to be a furred up bullet connector on one of the headlight.

tax free

Hello everyone, my 6a should now qualify for free road tax. I gather I need to take the V5 to the Post office and they will deal with it. Does anyone know whether the V5 will need to be signed? I am the registered keeper but Clare is going to take the documents down for me and I don't want her to ge...

fuel smell & pressure in the tank

thanks all, I thought there was a one way valve of some sort.
Presumably the over pressure is causing fumes, or fuel, to squeeze past somewhere. I would rather find the cause than drill extra holes so will see if I can get it on a ramp somewhere and have a good look underneath at hoses etc.

fuel smell & pressure in the tank

yes I wondered about that but can't see where the hole on the inside of the cap goes to. I had to adapt a filler cap when I fitted it to the trailer and seem to remember there is a sprung plate to maintain pressure on the main seal but, again, I couldn't see the route the breather hole took to atmos...

fuel smell & pressure in the tank

Hi everyone, for a while now after I have parked my 6a up in the garage after a run there has been a strong smell of petrol when I have gone back into the garage later on. I've tried sniffing around the car and can't pinpoint where it is coming from. I have check the fuel hoses, many times, and they...
