SS1 1400 for sale

P1010218.JPG With much reluctance, I have decided to sell my G reg, 1400, SS1. I know now is not the time to be trying to sell a car but the current situation forces my hand. The car has been comprehensively restored by the previous owner with no expense spared, including having it repainted in won...

radio interference

update I decided to fit a second socket, in the glove box, which I could then use for other items if necessary. I used the dash cam's original power supply and tested it using the car's original cigarette lighter which was fine, no interference. When I plugged it into the second socket, which I had ...

radio interference

Hello Everyone, I have fitted an ignition live hard wired usb power supply for my dash cam to my '77 6a, to free up the cigarette lighter socket, (and stop me flattening the battery when I forget to unplug it!) and now I have interference on the radio when the engine is running. It is not across all...

1400 vs 1600

Hi all,
just wondered if anyone has experience of how a 1400 4 speed compares to a 1600 5 speed on 1990 cars - engine/gearbox/driveablity?

ss1 wheel centre

Hello All,
I have noticed that I am missing a wheel centre from the KN spoke effect wheels on my SS1. Does anyone have one or a pointer as to where I can get one please?
thanks

se6 for restoration

that's what I thought Roger but the VIN seems to suggest a very early 6a, although I am not sure I took it down correctly!

The owner isn't very well at the moment so I am not able to further this but I think we have now secured the car's future.

se6 for restoration

Hello Everyone, A friend of a friend has a September '76, SE6a (?), sierra tan, MOD, PAS which he is looking to move on. He bought it at 4 years old and has had it ever since. As an engineer he has done much work on it over the years - stainless everything, upgrades to all sorts of little things etc...

dvla tax rates

thanks, AFAIK you can do the same thing from the registration plate search service on the same site so I am not sure why the vin search would give a different result, but even so, I don't think people would give out their vehicle details especially if the reg plate is clearly visible in the advert. ...

thanks,
These sort of sites are great for general information, but we all know there are differences between the real world and the DVLA and I am looking for find out exactly what the DVLA holds for individual vehicles rather than general information about models.

dvla tax rates

thanks!
the same thing happens with this site - take N407BRR for instance, comes up as zero tax.

However, on this site, our current vehicle comes up at £230 per year when, in fact, we are charged over £550!

Hello Everyone! We are thinking of changing our 9 seater Vito for something similar. I have seen a few I like the look of and have looked on the DVLA vehicle check website to see what the CO2 level is, to work out how much tax I will have to pay. A lot of vehicles, mostly imports, come up as zero g/...

ss1 gearbox

Hello All, getting the gearbox into 1st on my '85 1600 SS1 is a struggle. It just doesn't want to go in. Sometimes the only way I can do it is to put it into second then slide forwards into 1st but even this isn't exactly smooth. I was wondering if this points to an adjustment issue, clutch wear iss...
