Changing seats in an SE4

Morning, I put MX5s in mine with the separate head rests, not the tombstone looking ones. I didn't like the originals with no "whiplash" protection after a rear end collision in the GTE. I don't remember them being tight width wise although it is a while since they were fitted and they are miles mor...

Loton Park 3/4 August 2019

Had a quiet look around Loton today, searching for my lost Mojo. No heritage machinery so looks like I'll have to do next season in the Racy Red Bakery Truck. Grape vine says the Scim record was improved upon, so that's another gee-up fer yer wedgey pilots/spanner wranglers. Nice t' meet familiar fa...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts, deeds and words. It was comforting to see many club members come from far and wide to celebrate her life and talk of her achievements. A Coupe, 5, 5a, 6 and a Scimitar/Sabre were displayed in the yard to mark her close association with the RSSOC and, as a specia...

Thank you all for your kind words of love and support which continue to help us through the most difficult emotional heart-ache we have ever felt. I know she loved being involved with the competitive and social side of our club and actively encouraged son, son-in-law, granddaughter and husband to en...

Speedometer gearing

Hm, the gearbox speedo driven and drive gears are 21 teeth and 7 teeth so nearly the same as the diff (3.583 to 1), sort of equalising each other. I'm going to let you do the maths, not had enough coffee yet!☹️

Steering query

Some u/js have been shortened by cutting and re-welding. If the parts are not aligned correctly in phase before welding the cure is to file a new slot. However this means that they can still be out by half a spline. The most common shafts with this done to them seems to be for the Coupes. The drawin...

Springs... 2.5" 2.25" whats the difference

Right, the overall diameter is 80mm, the bit inside the spring is 59mm.
From the top, the socket dia is 26mm and the hole for the damper piston rod is 20mm.
