Scimfest@Curborough 2019

Hey Guys!

I am visiting family in Cornwall. This will be the first time I have been home during Curborough since moving to Canada in 2005!
Am I in time to book a camping pitch for Saturday night? Is the rssoc shop price per person? It would be for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Re: Jaguar 3.0V6 into 5A may go !!

Just like to thank the OP for the inspiration. I just purchased a 2002 Lincoln LS (same platform and engine as the Jaguar S Type - only cheaper) I will run it for the summer and when ready, it will donate its engine and manual gearbox to my SE5 project.

Re: North American Scimitars

LOL! Yes, I am still the proud owner of this GTE, along with my low mileage SS1! I moved provinces in 2014 and left my orange GTE in a friends yard until I was ready to have her shipped to my new home in British Columbia. I did some dismantling over the summer. Progress will be slow due to other com...

Re: North American Scimitars

Hi Jim / Roger.

It's British Columbia. The license plate is the same colour as the BC one. That is definitely a pic taken in North America.

Re: North American Scimitars

Stumbled on this picture on a British Columbia facebook page for old motorcycles. I tried to engage the guy but as yet no reply...anyone familiar? This is perplexing. The photo was placed in a Canadian motorcycle fb page. Other people, not just me were curious about the car and asking what it was. ...

Re: Where are you? Global locator for you to fill in!

Hi
Please could the admin delete my entry for Manitoba Canada, as I have moved to British Columbia. I also duplicated my entry by mistake, I am not in Castlegar, I am North of Castlegar, near Glade.
Thx

Re: North American Scimitars

Well the ebay auction price was creeping up towards the craigslist price and now it has gone from the auction, just before the end date. I think we can assume a deal has been made! Good news I am sure!

Re: Modern engine swap - 3.8L Canadian V6 Essex?

Thanks, I did look at the Omega threads with interest. Cateras are around but only in Automatic. The 3.8L would have been nice because they are easy to come by and a donor Mustang would be a complete package with a T5 transmission, although the horsepower figures are somewhat disappointing. I will c...

Modern engine swap - 3.8L Canadian V6 Essex?

I'm still at the dreaming/procrastinating stage of looking at domestic Canadian donor vehicles for my SE5 restoration where I would prefer a modern engine with multi point fuel injection.. A late 90's RWD Mustang with the V6 engine can be picked up cheaply, also with a manual transmission. Keeping l...

On eBay now too http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Reliant-Scimitar-GTE-Coupe-/291268591945?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 I don't really get the whole "bill of sale"/title process here. I met one chap with a Spitfire and it had never been allocated an off the road registration (SORN equivilent as far as I can f...

Re: North American Scimitars

Whereabouts in BC Darren? Hi Jim, We relocated to the West Kootenays in a small town called Castlegar. Lovely mountain scenary, mild winter climate (by Canadian standards) and roads built for Scimitars! Already attended a few shows here with my SS1 while my SE5 is still stored in Manitoba until I a...

If you struggle, the Cadillac Catera engine should be a nice conversion ;)
Looked into this too. Although Cateras appear to be automatic transmission only.

Re: North American Scimitars

Hi All From Canada. I haved since moved to the beautiful province of British Columbia from Manitoba. My SS1 has now reached a staggering 4000 miles :( and my SE5 project is currently stored in MB until I can get around to making a road trip in the spring... I see this one has come up again: https://...
