Ah, my tumble buggy was yellow. Brilliant until the aerial broke off & it stopped rolling back on to its wheels.

After all the petrol was pumped out the tanks & system, the fuel tank, swirl pot, pipes, filters & pumps came off. That was pretty simple all the work on the tank cradle & the mounts for everything made it very straight forward. I've plugged the feed & return pipes, so there is no fuel vapour around...

Corky's Scimitars & S2K

Good work Steve. The sill can be sorted another day. Mine's got a bit of a ding in the drivers sill where it looks like it's been ridden over a kerb or something (it was there when I bought it). It's on my list of things to fix at some point.

I had a trip to Jim King’s parts emporium today to collect: A rear armature A deck panel A LH rear wing A rear light panel A LH rear light A boot lid (handily already single skinned) All loaded up, thanks again Jim. 20190812_160656.jpg I stopped off on the way home for some Sikaflex & some flexible ...

In answer:

Yes, I'm fine, no issues at all.

It will be fixed & back out. I've not spent ages building it just to halt at the first hurdle. Anyway, I need to work through the issues (by using it) so it's a stable platform before it gets the next level engine in it.

This really wasn’t to plan at all! I thought I was being cautious, for the 1st time out my intent was just to finish. Obviously I can’t help being a little competitive, but I wasn’t being crazy. Instead of a post race check, I now have a bit more work to do. Back home, I now have more workshop decor...

The weather had been dry most of the morning & I was due out at 12.05. Heavy rain was forecast for 1pm. I decided on slick tyres, as it was dry & even if there was light rain, the wet tyres would be no help. However, in the holding area waiting to go out, it started to rain, then stopped then drizzl...

It was damp all morning & it started raining half an hour before qualifying, so I put the rain tyres on, Iain Daniels had popped up (his workshop is very close to Donnington) and gave me a most welcome helping hand. Craig Hughes also came over with his eldest son, despite the fact that I might not g...

There are 3 race series I can enter with the SS1, and the way the calenders sit with each other, I’d entered races with all series through August. The 1st one is with the BARC “CNC Heads Sports/Saloons Championship” I was only going to be able to do one round at Donnington on 10th August. However, i...

I chopped out the obstructions in the wheel arches 20190804_132751.jpg Then glassed in some new bits 20190805_185400.jpg Just some paint to slap on there before bolting the modified brackets to the chassis back on. The last lot of decals are now on, so it can cope with photos form both sides now. 20...
