I think I have found where you are, South-East of Limoges. The quickest route for me would be via Macon and Roanne, is that any help?

Miles, which department are you in? I can deliver up to 200 kms away with my trailer, maybe a bit further provided I can still return home in the day. ( not free, of course :) ) As I said in the ad, we could do a half-way meet , the big problem is how to hoist an engine from one trailer to another. ...

Electrickery-mystery gadget

I can see 13C718, thanks for that David. This car was rewired completely a few years ago, so nothing corresponds to the Reliant wiring diagrams. Whoever did it obviously knew what he was doing, and added relays in all sorts of places where they would not have been originally. This cluster is behind ...

Electrickery-mystery gadget

I have been trying to track down a host of problems with the interior lights, radio, door switches, etc. Judging by the state of this relay, I would say I have found the main source, but I don't know what the yellow box is. Could that be the delay timer?

Opening my silly mouth again - if you have a valve "on the rock", how can it be on compression? Surely if you set your dizzie like that it must be 180° out? N'est-ce pas?

MHIBA Août 2019

Well, one side of it used to be in Alsace! The summit in fact marks the old frontier between Alsace & France. I've been up there today for a planning meeting with about a dozen other officials , and Wow! - have we got our work cut out for us this year! The FFVE are imposing their rules on us , which...

Used Essex V6 for sale

This is an almost complete Essex V6 of the later type with D-ports . Missing bits are the front timing cover, water pump, top half of the distributor , and exhaust manifolds. This was a runner when I took it out of my car . It is tired and smokey, but has good oil pressure so I think I can safely sa...

MHIBA Août 2019

This is mainly for our Continental friends , but may be of general interest. The fourth running of MHIBA ( the popular abbreviation for Montée Historique Internationale du Ballon d'Alsace ) is due to take place on 9-10-11 of August this year . You will notice straight away that it will be a three-da...

Solenoid question

Without the engine running there is no oil pressure so the piston may not move ; or, you may get one click as the solenoid is energised, but nothing after that . Could you jack the rear wheels off the ground and test it with the engine running?

Axle pinion nut too tight or to slack?

The reason is probably that you have slipped the flange on a different spline from original. Pull it off again and wind it back a spline without turning the pinion. Pulling up the nut a fraction tighter is more desirable than leaving it slack.
