Modern engine and gearbox replacement for Se6b?

Why not rebuild what you have.
You know it fits and nothing will need modifying.
Also the originality will be retained and may stand you in good stead with your motoring authorities

I think that clutch slave looks like it might get damaged via the torque reaction of the engine and associated movements through the drive train.
Glad the box fits it's nice to use

If the body has been lifted from the chassis then it's unlikely the doors will fit correctly due to body flex

Essex V6 tuning

I used Aldon and found them patient , helpful and understanding.
Spent 3 hours doing full blown power runs and apart from a tiny timing alteration at high rpm my chokes and jets etc were spot on even though we were swapping parts after each run

Starter motor removal

Best to use 3/8 tools .
You can get an extension that has a non square end ( not a UJ ) and this allows the socket to articulate a little

Starter motor removal

Sounds good to me .
If you have tubular manifolds then it's easier with the oil filter removed .
If you still have the plastic oil pressure pipe on the car then dont go near it as it will likely break
