If all else fails try looking for the lift motor from a TR7 - that's when the SS1 is based on and almost the same Jeff.

You do fill the auto box through the dipstick tube - you have to run the engine and move though all the gears to get the oil to circulate then check the level on the dipstick and add oil to get the level right. Probably easier as you have all said but it just does not look right which I find very annoying - this is the only SS1 we have had which has the headlights frames 1" different in height from the ground.

The headlight beams are correct with them raised - adjusting the beams is not a problem - another picture taken at more of a angle.
