All back together. Took me longer than it should have done but I sorted out some niggles on the way. Just need to re-torque the head bolts and then ready for a road test.

No adverse weather and no external oil cooler. I will put it back together next weekend and see what happens.

Thoughts were that either the head gasket or the water cooled oil cooler were the cause of the mayo in the oil. Craig lent me a spare to swap. Spot the difference: 20190901_120311_resized.jpg My original is at the top. I could change the pipe work and fit Craig's but first I wanted to test mine. I h...

OK had some more time today and now have the head off. All the crankshaft pulleys are either keyed or secured by the 6 bolts so I needn't have worried!
I cannot see any issues here:

Nope no distributor, but I want to reset it exactly as it was without having to have it setup again.

No marks on cam belt! Am I not right that if No 1 piston is at TDC then the two valves are closed ie both the rocker can be moved. My current thoughts are: Confirm TDC. Make my own marks on the old belt. Transfer marks to new belt. Use these marks to refit the cam belt. Will this work? What is the b...

OK I have staerted striping down to replace the head gasket and I am a bit stuck. Firstly setting the engine to TDC. I have used the wire in No 1 spark plug (nearest radiator) to judge when the piston is at the top of the stroke and both inlet and exhaust rocker arms have free play. Is there any way...

Curborough Test Days 16/17th Aug 2019

Times for the afternoon session. This time definitely wet! There were a number of spins due to the conditions but all were safe with no damage. More laps were attempted but there were several aborts. Josh set his times in his standard S2000 and gave a number of us a ride round. This was interesting ...
