Hi guys. Here's a question. Is the 7HA the same as fitted to the Daimler Dart ? If so I can get a new crownwheel and pinion same ratio. Cheers Phil D.
Very likely. Also used on lots of old Morgans so there is a good choice of crownwheel & pinion ratios, but plenty £££

Very saddened to hear of your loss Brian.
I never met Felicity but can tell from all of the wonderful comments about her on here that she was a very special lady & will be sorely missed.

Window felt scraper seals SE5 - Parts missing / Wanted ?

Might be worth double checking with a Coupe door diagram, because if they didn't have that folded steel strip I doubt if the early SE5 did either. I can't remember if mine has them or not, but it does have inner weatherstrips that match the outer ones. I'd hazard a guess that if the vinyl is wrapped...

Window felt scraper seals SE5 - Parts missing / Wanted ?

19 is what I photoed, 17 looks very much like the later SE6 type, but no reference to rivets so it possibly was evostuck 19 is an internal piece of folded steel on the SE5, its not the stainless steel piece on show in your picture. As I said earlier there aren't any on SE5 models as far as I'm awar...

Window felt scraper seals SE5 - Parts missing / Wanted ?

The stainless trim was only fitted on the SE5a, not the SE5 as far as I'm aware, and certainly not any of the first 500, although they can be retro-fitted.
On the SE5 the seal can be glued straight to the inside of the opening using a polyurethane sealant.

Gearbox layshaft end float

I believe about 25 thou max, otherwise new bronze thrust washers will be required. Around 10 thou would be ideal.

660XYB Engine fix

Just shows how much I know about Ford straight 6s ! Ford V8s used bushes all the way though the 60s so I assumed (incorrectly) that the 6s would too
As has been said though the 6203Z is a standard bearing & can be obtained very easily

660XYB Engine fix

Glad you succeeded in getting them apart. I'd take a guess that the Jag gearbox input shaft was sleeved due to either being scored on the end, or it was too small a diameter for the 6203Z bearing, which is likely a modification, as I think most Fords of that era used a solid bronze bush. A tight fit...

660XYB Engine fix

Might just be the crankshaft spigot bush snagging as it slides over an unworn part of the gearbox input shaft.
You could try using a couple of tyre levers to pry the box off but it helps to have a extra pair of hands for this
