What gearbox?

I replaced them both recently when I rebuilt the engine on my Coupe. Got them from Burtons, who do some parts for the type 5. However, it's worth getting in touch with them to make sure the seal is the right size for your box. The one listed on their website for the type 5 was too small for my gearb...

Candy Capers - everyday life of an SE6A.

That looks a bit prettier now! Won't the blue engine clash with the gold engine bay though?

So next question - does anyone have a known good distributor out there?
Or is a replacement trigger and its small loom available new from somewhere? I've looked on Burton's website but couldn't see anything.

Intermittent electrical problem GTC

Me thinks you're overthinking here! When we (for those who don't know, Phil is my Dad, hence the "we"! :D ) hotwired the coil, the normal feed to the coil was disconnected, which takes the yellow and white wire from the starter out of the equation. After the engine dies, substituting the coil with 2...

Sounds like ignition switch failure to me.
If it's the ignition switch, then surely there wouldn't be any power going to the coil? Even when the car won't start there's 11.5 volts at the coil with the ignition on, and 9.5 volts when cranking.

Tyres Pneus Online

I've had tyres from them several times and never had a problem. Although as mentioned, they are a French company and I live in France, so maybe that helps!

Something to be aware of

not sure you boys with an Essex / cologne will find much room for batteries, but the motor will be much smaller than that V6 lump so room in there? remove spare wheel as weel? Jaguar have developed an electric E-Type with the batteries where the engine was and the electric motor in the place of the...

Graham Walkers

Must just be me, but interesting to see comments about great service, I contacted them 3 times last year for parts prices (all the same enquiry) as wanted to compare to QRG, never had a response, so only ever speak to Nigel @ QRG now. Be patient, I received an answer to an enquiry yesterday from GW...

There is a black 6b down there at the moment too. Broke down on the trip home and was taken to a local garage for attention. Belongs to someone local to me.
Gearbox trouble wasn't it? Chris (Dark Star) and my Dad helped coordinate the rescue operation! :)

Se6 on the Côte d'Azur

Having expected that the only Scimitars which would be present at a local British car meet would be my Dad's GTC (philipmasonfrance on the forum) and my Coupé, I was pretty surprised when a French gentleman walked up and said: "my son has one of those, it's in my garage. Don't move, I'll be back in ...

IMHO the front and rear guides break because people torque the heads down with a standard socket
Ah, "people" - as in me when I put the heads back on! Oh well, I won't be making that mistake again. You live and learn!

Opinions on an engine rebuild

I thought this thread was over and done with; unfortunately the Coupé had other ideas! On the very day I was going to change the oil and adjust the tappets after the running in period, a pushrod guide broke, which was nice... Burton's don't seem to stock them so it looks like I'll be advertising in ...

Super le prospectus Chris! :) En plus nous avons déniché de jolies routes qui n'attendent que des Scimitars et qui permettront de découvrir des paysages comme ceux-ci:
