No speed

It can be done in situ. Just means you are working laying on your back, unless you have access to a car lift. Mine came out once I disconnected the speedo cable. I could just see the end and managed to remove it with a pair of thin long nosed pliers. if you have to replace the gear, make sure the ne...

Paint code

Just been looking at Greenmeanies comprehensive list of paint codes. White Rose is listed as 11625. On the GTC chassis plate at the bottom it has the code SC16125. Is this the paint code? Dont want to give them the wrong numbers. Shes off to the sprayers today so I only have a short time to get it r...

After my lucky escape with a loose valve seat, I have refitted standard heads. No more inserts to fall out.

Essex V6 tapping[again!]

Mine did. Tried to adjust it thinking it was out but never made any difference. After seeing the photos I now realise how lucky I was.

Essex V6 tapping[again!]

Do you have hardened valve seats? i had a similar thing on my cologne engine recently. When the head was stripped down one of the hardened valve seats was loose, thus causing my tapping noise.

Which WEBER carb is fitted in my SE6 ?

On my weber it is stamped on the edge, just by the needle valves indicating what type it is. I can see in one of your photos it has some markings but cannot make them out.

Ford's SS1

Looking good. You are certainly putting the work in. It is a lot easier removing the crossmember to access the bottom pulley and remove the bottom half of the timing cover. I did try to do it with it in place but couldnt get the socket on the bolt. I refitted the crossmemberusing stainless steel bol...

6B engine oil leak

When I pulled the engine & gearbox from the GTC I found one of the many oil leaks was coming from the fuel pump area. Removed the pump and the gasket was shot. Dont know if this is common or not, but may be worth removing and changing the gasket.

Curborough 19 August 2018

Yes there are showers. We tend to bring food along or go to the local Co-op and stock up. On saturday & sunday there is a burger bar open that does hot fast food. There are a couple of pubs just a short drive away that do food. Fish & chip shop next to the co-op. Dont forget the beer. Curborough is ...
