Which Oil filter for SSI 1800TI??

I struggled with the 1800TI and Sabre. Then I found the way. I always loosened the filter by hand when stone cold, then soon as I had Cracked the seal, warm the engine up on a run so oil most fluid then it twisted off easily by hand. Starting when engine warm was a real knuckle killer!!

MOT exemption

Note that it’s not from DVLA or FBHVC - it’s a letter from the DfT to the FBHVC. Given the typos in the last para and the fact that the last two paras contradict each other, I’m a bit suspicious. Car that has not been sorned

As Will says. It's also worth considering whether it is still registered with the DVLA, especially if you want to retain the original number, as any car not taxed since the DVLA was computerised in 1983 might not be. You're on the cusp at 35 years but if you have a V5 (of any colour) rather than th...

Looks like the offspring of an E type and an Aston. Think the price might scare me!

Beware the car thieves

This is just a very old story with a new twist. Thieves always find a way. Only 1 real deterrent, when caught give them substantial penalties, massive fines, long prison sentences, banned from driving for life or my favourite, death!

Darts are not that bad, only the engine is a bit fiddly, but it is so good it's worth it. I would love to make a Dart with proper rear suspension, a decent gearbox and a rack-and-pinion conversion (which mine had) But I'm getting too old for all that - and as mentioned Darts are now fetching prices...

I always sell cars just before they rise in value, notably Daimler SP250 and Porsche 928 GTS. Looking back I should never have sold the Daimler at any price but there you go. So when I sell my GTC you can look forward to them doubling in price overnight  You really want all the servicing t...

Looking for a project SS1

"Yes I've seen it. The wife loved it says I can have it but it's all done nothing for me to fix. Wife's not that keen on the SS1"

Exactly what I was saying about the Sabre. Just a beautiful car!

Looking for a project SS1

Disclaimer, My Mother had a 1300, then a TI then a Sabre Turbo, which I told her I would buy when she sold it (while we were on the test drive). She loved the 1300 but found it gutless. She loved her TI and Sabre. I think the ss1 is ugly, the TT is the ugliest and the Sabre is a wet dream. We did lo...

Few weekends work. 2011-12 difference.jpg Int b and a .jpg I suppose the difference is, someone like me has racks full of the right parts. Where as buying all the bits to make good outright would potentially be a costly exercise. Still. That bluebird turbo engine is begging for a big top mount turb...
