Simon's SE5 Restoration

Hi Simon, Looking at that marked bore there also seems to be some pitting as well, unless it’s just the picture? I had an Essex block that had a porous bore that had rusted from the water jacket into the cylinder. Pictures show what was revealed after first run of the boring machine. IMG_3657.jpg IM...

Wide Coupé

A bit like these? Replaced the Mexico arches with reconstituted Coupe arches cut, stretched and widened to cater for the 4HA.

Ebay Fees, how much ??

Setting up a classified on eBay is the best method and it's there for 28 days for a single fee.

It's not as obvious as it should be to select the classified option, but it is on there.

1975 SE5a Project For Sale

I think the camera can and does lie on occasions, but I've not used a rose tinted filter. Overall I think it would provide a reasonable starting point for a renovation. I'll clean the engine bay to make it slightly less 'orrible looking. Not sure what the original colour was and have not done any de...

1975 SE5a Project For Sale

Even with the challenges for the cills, outriggers and B-pillars, I feel that the car is too good to break or really to use as basis for a kit or re-body. Of course I need to find someone who agrees. Can't keep 'em all and I saved it so it can be saved, but if no one here wants a project at this mom...

Thinking of selling

Hi. I don't think I want your GTE because the body looks good but the chassis is shot and would need a full body off to fix, plus the MOT said insufficient washer liquid at front there is nothing there to deliver it. The headlights need replacing and it would have to be taken to a garage for the em...

1975 SE5a Project For Sale

Some time ago I rescued an SE5a as it was a bit forlorn and I had a day free. It has been safely tucked away in the barn I rent since that time and I’ve rarely had the opportunity to move it. I moved it to the front a week ago to finally have a good look at it. Chassis rails are unwelded and seeming...

Croft 2 April 2018

Just sleety rain all day and a high of 3 degrees during daylight hours.
Hope it's an enjoyable day and there is a good warm cafe up there.
Good luck to the intrepid Scimitar crew!

Yes I agree it's cheap for the car it's a shame it's so far away , it will cost a lot to get it shipped to the U.K. So makes the total high.
Go for a road trip and drive it back.

SE6A Lockheed Clutch Hydraulics

I needed a steering hose for a 1991 Toyota Soarer as they are NLA from Toyota. None of the franchise hydraulic hose makers would make it as they are claim to be no longer insured to make hoses for road going vehicles. In the end I used a mobile chap who made up a hose to replicate the split one I ha...

Fancy a Boost - Essex turbo

Seems a lot of car for not much money, especially given the most recent press observations that Scimitars are undervalued.
