What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Yep, the Pug diesels were brilliant. One of our contractors ran Pugeot 305 vans (when did you last see one of those! :) ) and the engines were doing 200-300k miles with minimal maintenance. The vans were usually crashed or had fallen apart with abuse before the engines were half worn!

Yep, it might have had every extra but that engine was a bit of a slug IIRC!

Jim you mentioned seeing a Calibra a short while ago. A really good looking "P" plate example passed me in Elgin this morning. Hadn't seen one for a long time and it made me check out some of the Classic ads!

Manchester Classic Car Show 15/16 Sept 2018

Had the 5a at the Brodie show in August and got some nice comments and it was in at the garage the other week to (finally) get the SS tank fitted and a woman who had her car in for service was very taken with it and asked if I wanted to swap with her Ford! Had the MB at Lathalmond at the beginning o...

Straight 6 coupe for restoration

Interesting, registration looks like LYX 175D but unless I have missed it only LYX 176D (No. 172) appears on Matt Greenly's register list. LYX 175D shows as a white Reliant last taxed 1982 but LYX 176D shows as details not found, a typo on the register?

So many variants of that if you play with the spacing and bolts but not one I would have!

The XKE plate is a belter.

Have you checked the wishbone bushes and brackets
My initial thought too, if the springs are intact. Lower rear bracket would be the first I would check.

Pre 67 Ford Show - Dunfermline

Just a few shots of the line up for last Sunday's RSSOC stand at the Pre 67 Ford show near Dunfermline. Thanks to all involved and particularly Mark for organising it. Great to catch up with everyone. Gathering just off the M90 before travelling in convoy to the show IMG_1286.jpg The line up on the ...

Good or Appropriate Number Plates

Can't remember if I have posted this before and I am not checking through 77 pages! Anyway, if I have it is worth a repost as it is a brilliant plate, and displayed without altering the spacing. Cost someone £7,600 in 1999!! ecosse.jpg Seen in Rothesay b4ute.jpg Also in Rothesay rnlis.jpg Owned, I t...

Spare hoses for MB breakdowns - or Silweld ?

But back to my photos above, am I looking at the hose in question ? Yes, that's the one in question. Like you I have searched and not had much luck finding a supply other than QRG which is, as Jim says, surprising given how many of these engines were produced and must still be in use. The one I rep...
