Alpine stereo

All the ones I have had have 4 speakers, 2 in the door and 2 in the rear panel. Maybe MB61's original owner specified the extra speakers? At the risk of going a bit off topic here, I've recently been piecing together MB61's history, and the first two registered owners were car leasing operations. S...

Alpine stereo

Talking of 'standard' original audio kit, according to the MB wiring diagram, and common past experience, the MB came as standard with four speakers - one in each door, and one beside each rear seat. I've been digging around the rear panel, underneath the tailgate glass, and found two more speaker g...

3. Alloy wheel nuts Aluminium alloy wheel nuts were used on the Dolomite Sprint and they didn’t fall off? Not my field at all, but it seems on the Dolly forum that "The alloy used for wheel nuts is 2014 which is a hard alloy." This is from a thread (sorry...) where a member is enquiring whether he ...

Middlebridge wheels/Locking Nuts/Centre Caps

I said earlier. eBay is awash with McGard locknuts, and they seem to be priced at £26 so a lot cheaper than I paid for my Cruize ones. On eBay, in Vehicle Parts & Accessories/Car Wheels, Tyres and Trims/Nuts, Bolts & Studs search for "mcgard locking 1/2 unf" and this will give you the ones. There is...

Middlebridge wheels/Locking Nuts/Centre Caps

Hi Chris, could you put the ebay links up where you bought yours from, I've just had a look and it's a bit of a minefield for us less mechanically minded! Cheers Andrew I cannot find any McGard nuts on eBay at present, nor from any UK supplier on other sites. You can get them shipped from the US bu...

If it does not work, You can borrow one of my Tubes of the Wurth RTV, it is the best you are going to get, I promise you.
I have no doubt it is every bit as good as you say, but at the price I've seen it is simply not economically viable when other options are there at only 14% of the cost.

Sugru does seem to have good reports - comes in small packets sealed.
And, according to their own web site, a shelf life of a year at room temperature, but THREE years if you keep it in the fridge.

What breakdown cover ?

dunno if SWAMBO will let me try AutoAid, I'll report back after I've given them a call and asked about their 'loyalty' scheme :-) So many of us grew up in the days of "either the AA or the RAC" that we are naturally suspicious of the modern, new-fangled offerings with strange names we've never hear...

You can buy a small tube of silicone black sealant from Halfords.

Have a look at Sugru ( https://sugru.com /) Wonderful stuff. I have used it to fill cracks in screen rubber quite successfully. Now this *does* look promising. Widely available, cost under £5, small unit size in a handy pouche... ticking lots of boxes so far... So you've been able to *fill* the cra...

I can recommend this for rubber repairs https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-WITCH-scuba-diving-DRY-WET-SUIT-neoprene-repair-glue-ADHESIVE-seals-DIVE/273749305733?hash=item3fbcbae985:g:95EAAOSwgfRcWH1Hstuff Thanks, but I suspect this is more like an adhesive than a filler ? An interesting point, though...
