SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

James used a Jaguar gearbox to mate to the Daimler engine, simply because he had one from a MK2, he was aware of the standard/triumph boxes that are sometimes used in the SP250, but didn’t have one to hand. He made a custom flywheel/clutch assembly. You’ll probably have noticed that he also used Dai...

SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

Thanks guys, I needed to use the car for a school prom before getting it painted, some nippers appreciate a nice classic. https://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/aa415/bodgerben/Scimitar/image2.jpeg https://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/aa415/bodgerben/Scimitar/image3.jpeg And I'll just leave these here...

SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

I popped down to the local noggin to collect a rear hatch handle and had a nice natter to a few friendly people, expecting to have been able to show off a nicely resprayed car well before now. What happened? I dropped the car off for its respray on the last weekend in June, then promptly had a heart...

Alternative Coupé register ;-)

Thanks Ben, the Daimler makes my eyes water. I knew I should have put a V8 in mine when I did the conversion but I didn't have the courage (or the bell housing 8) ) The 2,5 litre badge is a nice touch ! James didn't bother with the Scimitar gearbox, he used a Jag box and I'm pretty sure he made a f...

You've got my brothers Daimler V8 TPL 170F on the list, spotted in Craneligh Surrey, but you don't have details of Dad's original Ford V6 TME 354F - both we're at Retro-Rides in Goodwood today, I'll post some pics tomorrow.

SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

She just went through the MOT with no advisories, which is slightly odd as the windscreen still has the chip and I did nothing with the last MOT's slight play in steering, I probably will have to do the column bushes during the year. I got her good and warm running back and forth on the mile long st...

SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

Well, all those good intentions didn’t come to much, I didn’t use the car at all last year, a slight misfire and too much DIY at home. Anyway, the misfire was a duff coil, so easily sorted, she’s back running lovely. I need to get her MOTD as my mates daughter wants the car for her school prom (what...

SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

Thanks Jim, Caroline did see 204 on the speedo of her 911 at VMax in September so that's now done. Albeit only a 196 through the beams, on the plus side no Astons got anywhere near that (Aston subsidised the day with plenty of cars to test) and the fastest McLaren, a 675LT was 195! No more runway da...

1UZFE V8 SE6A

Just saying hi as we've been a bit busy with other projects, trying to go 200+ within a mile, we've not done that yet, 193 is the best so far with a 25mph head wind, so there's still hope. That's been in Caroline's 911 Turbo. Pretty much a new engine and gearbox for that cars been a tad expensive. Y...

Re: SCIMITAR V8 LEXUS

Update on the car... The interior is back in - new carpets and hatch area's are all looking nice. RAF Odiham track day went well, Caroline had a couple of half hour sessions with the instructor Leyton Clarke - the early session was held up by a few red flags, but in the afternoon session Caroline ha...
