SPAX or AVO or Gaz or Protech?

I had a quote from Protech for my Se5a for dampers with springs and it was about £560 which included VAT and delivery.

Carb service.

I've been stripping my Weber 38DGMS and it is as Tom said quite straight forward to do. It's actually quite therapeutic pulling it apart and seeing how it all goes together with all the jets and valves. The only difficulty i've had is getting the screws out that hold the butterfly valves to the shaf...

Damaged dizzy

Cheers Jim. That's the answer i was hoping for. The housing is all straight with no signs of damage and with no sign of any cracks. It spins freely, nice and smooth with no notchyess or anything. All of the components i.e. Cap, Rotor arm, points, condenser all look brand new too. A bit of careful Dr...

Damaged dizzy

Good afternoon All, I am now slowly dismembering the Essex in my Se5a. I have been able to remove my Bosch distributor successfully, this came out after about 5 minutes tapping the underside with a nylon hammer. There is on the shaft outside of it some damage, this can be seen in the image. It looks...

Se5a Spacers that sit between the lower wishbones and the damper lower mounting bracket

Hi. Mine is definitely a 5a. They are the spacers that are referred to in the Front Suspension update in the Se5a Workshop Manual. It says they are fitted on vehicles with Chassis Number 452501-454030, 931001-933499. Mine is Chassis Number 453171. In the Se5a Parts Manual they are item 50, part numb...

Se5a Spacers that sit between the lower wishbones and the damper lower mounting bracket

Good Morning All, I'm after a couple of the small round spacers that sit between the lower wishbones and the damper lower mounting bracket on the Se5a front suspension. I've been stripping the front suspension and two of the little buggers have rolled off somewhere, i have the others. If anybody has...

Re: Advice on a class for hill climbing / csprinting

There's a wealth of valuable and insightful knowledge from all so thank you for that. I've been getting some mojo back this week on the car and spent a good few hours on her.

I wish you all a merry Christmas and thanks for all your feedback.

Re: Advice on a class for hill climbing / csprinting

Thank you all for the advice and a thank you Phil for the offer of the rear interior panels. As I've got one in the garage I'm sure I must have the other...I think it came with the two in the rear. I need a dashboard and if I have to follow the letter of the law then a centre console, better safe th...

Re: Advice on a class for hill climbing / csprinting

Evening All, I've just thought of another question regarding the road going class? It says the interior has to be in, is this a stock factory interior? I don't have a centre console and only one rear interior panel so I'm hoping I don't need to fit these if it's not a stock interior. Again thanks fo...

Re: Advice on a class for hill climbing / sprinting

I like the idea of visiting a test day...and having a passenger lap.. :D. The only time I've ever been in a Scimitar is when I took mine for a test drive and when I went to collect it from the seller. All the advice has been invaluable and is definitely already getting me more enthused about crackin...
