Easyspace

I've corrected the scimitarweb.com issue. As its a DNS change it may take a while to propogate around the net. The site lives on scimitarweb.co.uk but is pointed to by scimitarweb.com so either request should get the same result. BTW The scimweb.com domain was lost before I took over as webmaster ma...

Easyspace

The .com domain has been transferred to Easyspace registrar. I must have missed or incorrectly set a value when that happened . I'll put it right soon.

That is most weird! Thanks for the screenshots. The extra space is not where I thought it was. The pagination buttons in the second image should be on the same line as the Post Reply and other buttons. How many, many lines of blankness appear there I haven't a clue. In fact I'm as blank as that area...

I've installed AdBlock and it blocks the ads but doesn't exhibit to problem you noticed. It must be something very specific to your combination of versions of operating system, browser, AdBlock and any other browser extensions or settings. I'm afraid you'll have to put up with it!

Just put Chrome on my PC and the pages are indistinguishable from my usual Firefox. Do you know what ad blocking software is installed? There seem to be a few flavours.

The Gallery part of the Forum software has not been working correctly for some time and the team supporting it are very slow in putting it right and getting it compatible with the current version of the Forum software. I've found out some things that I can do to improve matters so I'm going to apply...

I'm not doing anything that affects the forum itself, just the menu system and the pages accessible from the homepage. I have noticed the odd thing similar to this and it seemed to be caused by the use of the ref bbcode tag. That is the one you get when you click a username and choose the option "Re...

Changes to Website Menu

Hi All. After a rather long lay-off, for a combination of reasons I don't want to bore you with here, I have just got back to doing some work on ScimitarWeb. I have not been keeping up with any issues that have arisen, so I apologise for the lack of support. The time I have available is rather limit...

Not secure?

Erik has passed this to me for attention. The server is secured by a valid certificate and can be accessed securely using the https protocol. Some menu items have been inconsistent in this respect and I have just corrected those to all use https. Other links throughout the site may be either https o...

5a Door Hinges

Thanks MadMax. I can see that now. Those blower motor panels are also a pain to remove because of the way they are "nailed" in! Oh well, I'm too far into the job to stop now.

Speedy's paint job is too good for me to contemplate going to those lengths! I can't afford to have it done again. :(

5a Door Hinges

I've had to remove a hinge from the A-post to replace the pin. After total failure with an impact driver I very carefully drilled the screw heads out expecting to then have to drill out and clean up threads in captive nuts. I was surprised to find no captive nuts, instead a penny washer, plain washe...

ScimitarWeb Developments

There were a lot of people doing a lot of different things with different approaches, just nothing I could find that fitted our requirements. Since then the trend towards more and more mobile access has focuused development into a more consistent track. My earlier work didn't consider mobile access ...

If I read it another way, “Home” now means the homepage- “Board Index” is now the start of the forum. Yep. The start of the forum has always been "Board Index" on the breadcrumb menus. A link to the homepage has now been added to those breadcrumb menus. The top menu has the same functionallity as t...
