wanted SE5a opening front quarterlight windows

The fixed ones were a Scimpart (Don Pither) kit, to get round the problem that the rubber seals were unavailable - and also that the levers were easy to seize and the hinge pivot also likes to break :( Now, thanks to the effort of a Scimitar owning engineer extraordinaire (Australian Coupe owner, Vi...

GTC at Brightwells

It is on the register, though I have filled in some gaps :) It appears to have been originally registered in Jersey, and more recently it's been in Ireland for a few years. I had an e-mail a few days ago from a club member advising it was entered for auction. A low mileage car too, according to the ...

GTC in Bristol Classic Show Auction 23 June

Peter, thanks for the VIN number. I'll update the register. It had Peter Misy's name against no.110, but no other details - which surprised me - but then again, there are members and long time owning non-members of Scimitars who haven't got in touch with the registrar's :D

Parts question

Inlet manifold is NOT from a Scimitar. It won't fit a V6.
I'd suggest it's from the pinto, but I'm no expert on those old Ford's :)

GTC Brake Servo Advise

I paid more than £100 just for parts to refurb my (admittidly) SE4 servo a few years ago. That does seem a good price for someone to rebuild one :?

I may be out of turn to say this, but it does surprise me that people complain at the price of genuine brake parts for our cars.

Not just you. I saw that too, and wondered momentarily if they drive on the right on the Isle of Man

I'll get my coat...

Philip, although I've happily bought lots of bits from 'autoelectricsupplies', personally I wouldn't recommend the lighting harness. In may just be me, but I felt the wire gauge was a bit light  for the application, even though I was also adding relays.

1967 SE4 on Car & Classic

Ummm :? they stopped making the Straight 6 in 1966. I suppose it could have been registered later?

Otherwise, yes it appears to all be there. Interesting back seats are now very rare... I've got 2 :D

Optimistically priced for a project, though I hope it achieves a good price

I've both Wipac and Cibies, which are both "low dome" as you call it. I went to check the spares last night as I thought I also had some from my old series 2 land rover, but must of got rid of them a while back (can't even remember if they were 7")

Wasn't that one on the Bay last week for £10k buy-it-now?
Alex.
Just catching up
It was in Brightwell's auction in February.
It may have also been a buy-it-now when it first appeared on eBay, but I didn't make a note.

Ians GTC rebuild. Now she runs.

Very nice Ian.
I have been contemplating replacing the plywood panels (what's left of them 😮) on mine too, and can't help wondering why Reliant never made them in fibreglass!

Might well look at the same material as you, as they look really good.

Alternative Coupé register ;-)

Well done Guy, no trace of that one anywhere :) Are there any details on Facebook? As Jim has noted #151 apparently. Stalled project, and owner is asking whether someone's either interested in restoring for him, or maybe selling it (no price mentioned). Apparently mechanically all there with engine...
