Ballast or Non Ballast

I think the Duraspark ignition modules are pretty tough. I changed mine when I was trying to find the same problem as Colin - but it was apparently ok. I still have it somewhere if anyone needs one  I've looked it up  and my coil was overheating due to the melted eureka wire, the coil fin...

Thanks for your helps :D For interest, british forums (french ones have nothing) came up with 1) Is bank 1 the radiator or firewall side of the engine? Answer: Bank 1 = firewall, Bank 2 = radiator. 2) Do I replace Sensor 1 (exhaust manifold before catalytic converter) or sensor 2 (downstream of cat ...

Ballast or Non Ballast

This is a fat white wire which has probably melted and grilled the coil.
Of course I could be wrong ...

A Jaguar forum ( I forget which ) suggests that you can identify the faulty sensor by measuring its resistance, should be < 20 ohms ... ?
Does this sound reasonable ?

I would have taken it to Jaguar but our two local concessionaires (the same company in Cannes and Nice) are notorious and have a score of one star out of five on Google, which suggests their competence might not be better than the real garage where I usually go when I can't do the job myself  ...

An update and an appeal for HELP I have been using the Jaguar for a few weeks and am absolutely delighted with it, it drives well, has adequate performance and is very comfortable. The automatic gearbox is nowhere near the same quality as a 928 but it does the job - mind you I find the lack of engin...

Yes the spoiler in the pic.
It is exactly the same form as the boot lid and I thought of fitting it but I prefer to keep the original lines of the car.
It's yours for the cost of posting it (and it's not heavy)
Here's another photo showing the fit ...

Scimitars in a Gilbern book!

The Coupé was last seen in 2012 in Wiltshire.
I can tell you who it belonged to in 1980 :
J Vanderborght, Camberley, Surrey
And the colour was officially Everest White
