Ignition coil

Thank you David, you're certainly on the ball. If I bought the same items from Accusparks website they would cost almost £60.I've put their eBay offer in my Watch list. I'm just waiting for a reply from them hopefully confirming my diagnosis. Cheers for now, Mike.

Ignition coil

Thanks again folks for all the advice and info. I've checked the system according to David's instructions, and also those on the Accuspark website (thanks Terry, why didn't I think of that?) If my findings are correct, then I have a ballast type coil on a non-ballast system. I have e-mailed Accuspar...

Ignition coil

Thank you chaps. Been busy refitting the LH exhaust today after I discovered a couple of leaks. Did check the coil as per Davids info but multmeter playing up so need to get another tomorrow. Opinion seems to be overwhelmingly against the coil currently fitted, and as I have a spare conventional typ...

Ignition coil

Evening all, still puzzled about this coil.See my original post and pic. Closer inspection shows markings of 12V PBT-GF30 Made in Italy. Anyway, whatever it is I'm now wondering if the original fault that prompted it's fitment is returning. ie bad misfire. A couple of days ago, I suffered a couple o...

Crash pad screen vents

That looks nice and neat. Due to the very small amount of vinyl available, mine frequently come unstuck and look untidy, probably restrict the airflow as well. Se5 you say? Mike.

Changing seats in an SE4

My seats are , I believe, MK2 MX5, seperate headrests, leather faced. The phots should show how low they sit and how far they fold. Passengers is shown fully folded and adjusted fully folded. Very comfortable and supportive. Mike.

Spring rates

Thanks chaps. Coupe racing....reassuring about the springs, thanks. And good gaps between coils, especially as I have adjusted the spring collars to get the correct ride height. (they had been wound way up to gain clearance for the oversized wheels that had been fitted, now replaced with standard si...

Spring rates

Hello folks, does anyone have any info regarding the poundage of the front and rear coil springs. My coupe has a very hard, "jittery" ride. I have an invoice from GAZ that came with the car, and this specifies 2off springs at 275lbs and 2off at 200lbs. This seems rather a lot to me. The shocks are s...

I have 165/80x15 tyres on my Coupe. If you are using the same size tyres, can you tell me what pressures you use? Can't find any info anywhere! Thanks, Mike.

MW/LW radio

Sorry Chris. we went away for a few days, so didn't get your very kind offer. However, the set that I had bid for came up trumps and was here when we got home this evening, Funnily enough, it's also a Philips. Thanks again, regards, Mike.

MW/LW radio

Thanks to everyone who replied. Chris, original? radio doesn't work so no idea what stations it can receive. TBH, I'm happy to listen to the music of the V6, but my wife likes to occasionally listen to more conventional stuff, so that's why I'm considering getting another one. However, I'm not prepa...

MW/LW radio

Now don't laugh because this is a serious question, although you would be forgiven for thinking otherwise. The radio in my Se4 doesn't work so I want to replace it. I don't want a modern version, so am looking at used period Motorolas, Radiomobiles etc. However, and heres the daft bit......these are...

They're also on Gumtree and Classic Cars For Sale. Yesterday someone calling herself Isla Thomas wanted to buy our leather settee. She couldn't view it as she had health problems, would send courier etc etc. Thea Harris wanted to buy my TR4 last week. Same story. Tempted to send rude replies but jus...

Yes, that's what I thought Trevor. Luckily the B pillars need completely retrimming so I can use the old pieces for a trial. Mike.
