GTC 404 MOT Emissions

Will`s Middlebridge # 42 failed the emissions test first time, even though its a 2.9 Injection engine. :( After debating weather to take it for a thrashing to clear the carbon out of the exhaust the tester told me to just turn the engine OFF and let it cool down a bit as the fan was cycling on and o...

I had new, standard springs from QRG fitted last year
That rules out Cut and lowered springs surely ??. :?:
But they do look very grotty for year old parts. :(

Length of shocker is irrelevant when on the car for ride height. :!:
UNLESS its TOO Short and the damping rod hit the inside of the shocker body. :w
Which is unlikely :?

top water hose

I noticed that Will`s has damages on his top hose on #42 but it has been moved and reset away from the alternator. :( My mate at the farm saw it and told me a lot of tractors use this type of Gates hose because its cheaper than getting the correct moulded type of hose. I would have thought that part...

Essex head gasket failed?

Have you done a compression test? I think Roger is referring to a Cooling System pressure test, otherwise known as a Rad Leak tester. I have one and it`s a Sykes Pickavant kit with various clamps to replace the Rad Cap on different cars. You can either let the engine run and watch the guage, or pum...

Triggers broom I suspect Look at Middlebridge Scimitar for your Yardstick ( forgive the Triggers Broom Pun  ), it was chassis and components that sank them over the racing Bentley. :w Google The Case of the Bentley Old Number One. Hubbard Vs Middlebridge Scimitar LTD. Essex head gasket failed?

As Jim points out the SE6 system does NOT have a valve for the heater, so is irrelevant. Do you keep the overflow bottle half full when topping up at the Rad Cap?. :?: Hot/Warm water that is pushed into the overflow bottle WILL evaporate and then not enough will be sucked back into the engine...

Good God  £40 per switch, and they are copies, not OE.

I just sold my last lot of refurbished ones for £5 each, I`m 9i55ed off now.

Too Much Work

On my SST the indicator unit is fastened to the bottom part of the switch binacle, on a few occasions the connector plug has been loose and not fully connected so I got an intermittent flasher.
