The "Mighty" SE6 - Internal Recycling

I forgot to ask as we were both on a mad one this morning, but what's going on with the propshaft? I left it there as I wasn't sure what was happening with that

Welcome,

First stop get a workshop manual, best one I've ever had for a car as it's more on the showing and less on the heavy heavy wording compared to others!

The "Mighty" SE6 - Internal Recycling

Came in the spares that Terry had got together over the years Come to think of it I left them in the garage as well... And I'd had a discussion over what sealant I'd use with then to hold in place to which I shrugged and thought I'd better ask opinions.. Suspect it may be useless to use seala...

The "Mighty" SE6 - Internal Recycling

Picked up some of the vast quality spares from Terry this morning including one very flat dash top to replace my sorry looking one among a lot of others. Having just sent the boys to bed (after an hour long running argument slash explanation to Charlie with the help of Mr King that him having Number...

"Mighty" SE6 - Rock and Roll!

Solved the low revs issue, it was me...not properly priming the carb on a cold engine  Don't think I could have gotten away with that without the gauzes... Other than that not much to say really, still clocking up miles happily, getting attention regularly from passers by, and have had the usu...

Tend to agree with Jim, my other car had a ticking noise that I thought was from a coil pack, it turned out to be the forward flex hose section had a small space between it and the next section which "ticked" as it was opened by exhaust gas. (Did the tissue paper test to confirm it)

Terry, thanks for reminding me of things you've said and is totally forgotten, I remember the heads were changed but not the double filter change and barely and milage in that time and how long ago the heads were done. Steve, it's a possibility the rev counter could be out but I'd have to get anothe...

Around the 1000 rpm mark, anything above natural idle when warm and it perks back to the expected pressure range

Fitted with and EFL 90 filter with a spare one for when I service. Have 5 litres of 20w50

"Mighty" SE6 - Rock and Roll!

Oil pressure question time, So Mighty since a head gasket change has this odd habit of sometimes, according to the gauge in car, of going very low on her pressure, but it ramps back up to normal under any throttle/load. Had a quick chat with Phil T and from Terrys knowledge as an owner seems to be j...

3 steel wheels and 4 GTE wheel trims or 4 tatty dunlops

As the title says folks I'm after either of the above (trims i know may be very hard to come by) to use as winter weather wheels. No real rush at the moment as although the weather in South Wales has got a lot colder in the last week, it won't be until it starts hammering down the white stuff that I...

"Mighty" SE6 - Rock and Roll!

Well that explains why the zafira we had for 6 months went from ok to dog mess in the grip dept during a brief cold snap now... The front tyres were winter (mud and snow)ones, that had to be replaced as they were scrubbing like billy-o And had chunks coming off the entire tread. Put some Mohawk/land...

Sarinas only got a years less driving under her belt than I (I've got nearly 15 years) but whereas I've driven cars of all sizes, vans, buses and coaches that are longer and about the same unmade weight as articulated hgv's, Sarina has only driven up to long wheelbase Van...and trust me even those l...

"Mighty" SE6 - Rock and Roll!

 Terry your about 10x the driver I am though lets be fair  The way the weather is at the moment and with the news being a bit doom and gloom I am expecting it to absolutely hammer the white stuff down at some point. Even when I had Link I (stupidly) thought of winter wheels and tyres to t...

"Mighty" SE6 - Rock and Roll!

Not really much to report but, seeing as this will be my first winter driving a GTE as a daily I'm wondering can people provide any advice to help me along? Have been considering getting steel wheels with GTE trims or tatty composites to use as winter wheels to protect the slotmags and allow me the ...
