Yes Q plate is for life , unless under extreme circumstances in some cases you can prove the age the original reg number entitlement .

The identity of the car as it has a chassis is with the chassis and not the body . So you have a car that the chassis does not match the ID of the car it is fitted to , so how old is it ? Hence the Q plate . However if you said I have a car with no ID but I do have a chassis number stamped on it and...

If they give it a Q plate you will not be able to take it off or gain a age related plate unless you can provide proof of the original reg number . This also means no free road tax , no MOT exemption and no travel free in the ULEZ .

Both of my Pre 500 SE5,s had Lucas Distributors , handy items as they have a vernier screw for fine timing adjustment.

Better picture showing the inside , also it’s a good idea to change the festoon bulb to a LED to stop burning .

Not the best photo , and forget the fuel regulator in the middle but you can just see the solenoid .

Pop up opener is Lucas part 31404 and 31175 courtesy light switch .

2 on EBay right now , not cheap but it’s a rare part . Put in Lucas 31404
