The new style ScimitarWeb is now live. The site has been re-built from the ground up and designed to have a similar look and feel throughout the various parts of the site. We hope that you will like and enjoy the new ScimitarWeb which we will be gradually enhancing over the coming months.

There are bound to be some initial problems with the operation of the new site and we would appreciate being informed of any that you find.

    Best Regards,
    The ScimitarWeb Team

    WEBSITE UPDATE

    2010-04-22 12:42:33

The new style ScimitarWeb is scheduled for release on or about the 1st June 2010. This includes a full re-styling of the main ScimitarWeb site and much closer integration of the Discussion Forum with other areas of the site.

As a precursor to this the Discussion Forum is about to be re-styled to give it a more Scimitar related look and feel. The operation and the overall layout of the Forum will not be affected but icons and logos will change to new ones generated by Dave Poole. Expect to see these changes appear over a period of time from 15:00 today.

    AGM and Committee Changes

    2010-04-19 12:00:00

    Message from our New Chairman

At the 2010 AGM of the RSSOC , a few changes were announced within the committee of the club:

After years of service, Jim King has stepped down as Chairman. I have taken up the role, ably assisted by a new role of Vice Chairman, Kevin Cooper. Both Kevin and I will be working closely in keeping the club moving forward.

Geoff Newcombe has stepped down from the committee and the role of Sponsorship co-ordinator leaving two vacancies on the committee, they have been filled by two excellent candidates voted in by the members – Matt Greenly (Coupe Registrar and man-of-many-websites) and Dave Poole (RSSOC Webteam and www.sporting-reliants.com). With Dave and Matt on board, a little re-organisation has taken place:

Steve Sims and I have relinquished our separate events roles (indoor and outdoor) and this is now combined into a single Events co-ordinator role to be run by Dave Poole. Steve retains his Noggin co-ordinator role.

Paul Maddison gains the Sponsorship role, and passes Press and PR to Matt Greenly. Paul retains the advertising role.

I hope you’ll join me in welcoming the new committee members into their new positions.

    Phil Howard
    RSSOC Chairman
